All Construction Debris Can Be Recycled, Even Accoustic Ceilings?

Yesterday, Daphne, my little sister ran to me and told me that her friend at school showed them that carpet could be recycled.
– No it can not be recycled, I said mindlessly . It could be possible to use it again, but surely impossible to be recycled.
As she didn’t stop arguing with me and even told me that carpet recyclers had their own association in America. So I went on Google and searched it out. As it appear, the little girl was incredibly correct. I found about a carpet recyclers organisation. As I was keeping on searching, I found that there was also a construction waste recycler in my area that handle such items. I found out Recymobilier and Recyconstruction in my province : they recycle a variety of furniture, appliances, electronic equipment and construction waste. I talked to an environment specialist, George, and he explained to me all the material that it is recyclable as of now.
- Carpet is recycled for the plastic it contains, it could either end up transformed to a brand new carpet or anything else made of plastic.
- Wood waste are shipped to an electric producer, they use it to generate power. The process is a smoke less fermentation that do not contribute to global warming.
- Sheetrock are going through some machines and shredded, paper and paint are removed, and the remaining gypsum can serve as fertilizer or be used to build new panels.
And the same happens for each variety of material. It is incredibly amazing to realize that we are standing there. To people expecting to make money by selling their old shelves or wood, It would be important to add that there are fees to recycle those items.
- We were exclusively in the area of computer recycling before. It changed, since at one point we were exclusively recycling the items that we were getting because it was not worth to resell it, we were forced to charge a recycling fee to some items that cost more to recycle than to toss away. When we realized that most people were interested in making a difference for the earth and were agreeing to pay a minimal fee to cover the handling of the material, we thought it was time to add extra recycling services that wouldn’t be sustainable by themselves to provide an alternative choice to landfill.
- Fortunately, the service received a tremendous response, as it came to the market when people and businesses started to realize about our impact on the environment, personally or on a business level. Industries and building managers are more than aware of the green movement, reason why more and more building managers are fighting to become LEED certified.
