Become an MT, Be a Role Model
Posted Under: Career
Becoming a medical transcriptionist means helping me be a wonderful role model for my family. I am a single parent of a 5yr old daughter. I put myself through respiratory therapy school and graduated last year. I thought this would end my financial troubles and a solution to my life goal but it wasn’t. I have a huge loan to repay and the hours are not flexible for my lifestyle. I am struggling to makes ends meet. How does being a medical transcriptionist help make me a role model for my family? It will show them I never give up trying to make things work for myself. I am a hard worker and will do anything to take care of my family. I want to remain independent in this tough economy. If one thing doesn’t work, I will try something else. With medical transcription I don’t have to compromise what I already enjoy doing. It’s a part of what I already love.
My father has been out of work for over a year. My brother has been spoiled by my parents and never learned the value of hard work. I want to prove hard work and ambition can pay off. It is also important to have my daughter look up to me. I never want her to say she cannot do something. I have and will do everything it takes to be successful and independent. I feel medical transcription can help me achieve these goals. Quite a number of my family members have jobs in the medical field. My mom does insurance verification. My sister is a transporter for radiology. I have several aunts who are nurses. One aunt was a phlebotomist. I knew I would do something in the medical field. My mom even made me volunteer at the local hospital for grade school and high school community services hours. Services hour’s mandatory for graduation. I feel it is a place I was destined to be. I have a lot of desire to learn as much as I can about the healthcare field. Respiratory therapy has been a wonderful and rewarding job. I will not be giving that up. I hope it will enhance my ability to perform well in a medical transcription job. I have medical background and experience. Medical transcription will just allow me to be more flexible with work hours so I can be there for my child. I also think it will help make me more knowledgeable in my current work! A medical transcription program is the answer to my life’s concerns. I can stay with my current work, which I love so much. I can do work that’s more flexible with how I live life. I can also learn a more interesting aspect of the healthcare field. I will never stop learning. Healthcare is an always changing profession. I think I will be very happy with medical transcriptionist training. I also know my family can look up to me as a role model once I have completed my training! It would be a great accomplishment!
