Birmingham UK is a great place to visit or work

When you think of visiting England, the places that spring to mind would be London, Edinburgh, Manchester and maybe Glasgowl. Birmingham is only a 1.5 hour train journey north of London and an exciting place to visit with just about every kind of activity to suit all whole family.

Birmingham has its own International airport and is far less stressful and busy than arriving at Heathrow or Gatwick. It is fairly central and a 15 minute ride away from the city centre.

There are many larger chain hotels plus smaller boutique and country house accomodations to choose from.

Birmingham offers great entertainment including several theatres such as the Symphony Hall which is known as one of the finest concert halls in Europe. Alexandra, The Cresent, Hippodrome and the Repertory all have regular concerts, comedians, ballet, opera and other shows.

The famous NEC national exhibition centre is situated on the outskirts of Birmingham and is a great venue that has endless entertainment.

The Jewellery quarter is famous for producing 40% of all UK jewellery. Many shops have their own craftsmen who design bespoke items to suit your taste. Many graduates and students have set up small businesses here offering contemporary designs.

If you have children, there are many attractions such as the wonderful and exciting Alton Towers which is full of heart stopping roller coasters, water rides, disney attractions plus there are some beautiful gardens and plenty of restaurants for the older generation. Drayton Manor Park has a similar theme and aimed for the slightly younger children as it has a zoo attraction. Also, Cadbury World is suitable for all ages and you are very likely to go home with free bars of chocolate which are included in the entrance fee.

There are plenty of career opportunities in Birmingham and the Midlands area. Several blue chip companies have their headquarters here and the city is full of offices. You will be able to find Jobs by searching the Internet for Job sites and Job boards that focus on vacancies in the Birmingham and Midlands area.

For keen shoppers the Bull Ring is the place to visit. Recently built, the building is designed to look like fish scales. Parking is good and the centre is full of well known high street stores plus many designer boutiques and an abundance of pubs and restaurants. The famous Selfridges store is located within the Bullring and has everything you need on it’s 3 floors of designer items.

You could also visit the National Motorcycle Museum or the Thinktank which holds a planetarium which is very educational. Birmingham is a great place to visit, work and live.
