Building a Stronger Team Via Days Out
Posted Under: General
You would have had to have been on another planet not to know what a state the business world is in. Costs have increased, competition is ruthless and customers have stopped buying. Many businesses have been looking to cut their overheads and stop any activities that are not strictly necessary.Staff expenses have been slashed in a large number of businesses, and areas such as marketing have also been cut back on. There is one area however that businesses should think twice about before axing, and that is team building. Believe it or not, sending your team on more team building events may actually be the thing that saves your company. Here is why that might be the case:.
Keeping your best staff. In times of economic struggle, rival companies will be looking to get the best people possible into their company to help them survive. Rivals will be using every trick they know to entice your best staff, but if you are looking after them well and using team building days to improve staff bonding, you will stand a much better chance of keeping your key members. Additionally, corporate events such as a Henley Regatta hospitality event are always a strong persuader.
Encourage good work ethic. Working relationships between management and staff are not one-way. Staff expect something back from their efforts and if you can show them this by treating them to days out of the office, they will repay you with hard work and results. Team efficiency is one of the first areas that people notice improvement as well, a this is closely related to the better communication channels that are opened up with team building
De-stress. Whenever the economy dips, stress levels will rise and tension will rise with it. As you can imagine, no company wants this in their organization and by simply getting your staff to loosen up and have a little fun now again you can knock this on the head. If your stuck for ideas you’ll find that corporate cookery is always great fun.
