Business Removals : Guidelines To Follow
Posted Under: General
If you are considering moving business premises, it is very important to get yourself properly organized. Ineffective organization will result in unnecessarily increased costs and a waste of valuable time. Below are some tips to help with the process…
- One of the most important factors in moving premises is knowing exactly what items your business owns. Make sure, by walking around your current building or buildings, that you have an accurate inventory of all items the company possesses. This can ensure a more accurate quote from the removals firm, plus it means that you can ensure everything gets to the desired destination by checking it against your inventory once you have moved.
- It is possible that the new premises that you will be moving into will be a shared premises. If this is the case, take a few members of staff to visit the premises on a few occasions before you relocate your business so that you can get to know the employees that currently work there such as security staff, receptionists and so on. This will minimize any disruptions as you will be expected, when the time to move comes, or you could even be on the receiving end of an offer of assistance, with any luck!
- Make sure you are aware of the size of the building or buildings you are moving into. If the premises have a smaller floor area then you will have to make sure you are not going to be taking up valuable floor space with unnecessary items. Alternatively, if the floor area is much larger, then you may need to order more items such as furniture.
- Make sure that as soon as you sign the contract for the new premises, you order the new electrical items or furniture items (if needed) immediately and have them delivered to the new premises. This is because if you order the items beforehand then they will be unnecessarily taking up space in the removals van when it comes to moving from your old premises.
- Get hold of the floor plans for your new premises. If you can plan out beforehand exactly where all of your furniture and items will be placed at your new premises then you will save yourself a lot of time and hassle on the day of the move. Draw onto the floor plans where everything should go, make copies and hand them out to those who will be involved with the move.
