Design an Exclusive Christmas Greeting Card

One of the things you need to consider is how to target a specific market, when you decide to make a product from home.  Christmas, Easter and Valentines Day are specific times of the year when greeting cards sell.  There are bound to be other important days too, but Christmas time would be the most  common.

How to make your Christmas greeting card designs exclusive needs to be a major consideration.  There are many Christian themes e.g. the baby in a manger, as well as the traditional Christmas baubles and tree, that people expect to find on their Christmas cards.  To pick a distinctive theme can be really  challenging.  You could personalise your cards by incorporating your family and pets with some Christmas props.

These beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cards are for your very special friends and loved ones.

For your Christmas greeting card designs to be successful you will need to have a well trained dog; a professional photographer; a good printer; and classy packaging e.g. a clear cello self sealed bag to put the finished cards in (this looks after the cards and gives them a more professional look).

Go to the free Google keyword tool to check out what is being searched on and get some ideas on what product to create.

For example if you search on ‘greeting cards’ you will find over 2 million others search on that keyword.  But you will need a niche market with fewer than 40,000 searches to be found on the Internet.

Large keyword search volumes are not as effective as the smaller volumes.  It is much better to have a search volume of around 22,000 as the keyword ‘Christmas greeting card’ has.  This Christmas Greeting Card design will seem charming to all.

A more targeted market with a 2,400 search volume for the keyword ‘dog greeting cards’ may give you improved results.  You could also do a search on a specific breed.  If there are between 1,500 and 40,000 searches per month, promote your Christmas greeting card designs with the sites that have a following for the particular breed of dog appearing in your cards e.g. Dog  Forums.

Think innovatively when producing your Christmas greeting card designs…….what else can you use the photos for?  You could also design something for the kids; Swap Cards can use the same photos and look great.  You can end up with two products with same Christmas topic, using the same photos.  Check out these Christmas Greeting Card designs and corresponding Swap Cards, featuring the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
