Sports and getting the success one want is something funny. You can have someone who is a fine athlete yet can’t succeed. Then you might have someone who is average at best yet becomes super successful.  At first it seems unexplainable. But when you look closer you see the primary reason some have success while some fail is the mind.  But why is that?In this article we are going to examine it a little closer.

So what is the reason the mind has become so important in sports?  As a San Diego sports psychologist I have been priveleged to see first hand why this is so.First thing you have to realize, the stereotype that thinks of athletes as dumb is far from the truth.Athletes really are some of the most intellgent people. And the ones that have the most success are the ones who have learned how to use their mind.

Funny thing a lot of athletes come in needing my anger management San Diego practice.A lot of times they get this anger because they failed in sports.  But what I am able to do is turn them around. The way to help them get back on track is to show them the reason for failure starts in the mind.By being able to use their mind more effectively, they can have great success. It has been shown to be true over and over again.

Once an athlete becomes aware and understands how powerful the mind is, they can become successful.  Most of the time they can achieve tremendous success.  It is like most things in life. The mind plays such a big role in the actions and results.  I see it not just in the athletes I deal with but also with families.  The San Diego family therapist practice I run I have used some of the same principles to help families achieve success.Success in learning how to beat the family struggles that might be happening.  In life and sports a lot of times the key is in your mind.
