How do I get a replacement wallet insert?
Vinyl wallet inserts come in a variety of shapes and sizes. First, you should consider the type of wallet that you have. Second, you need to consider your budget. Third, you need to consider where you are going to buy them.
One popular style of wallet is the trifold that has three sections where the first two sections fold over each other around one in the middle. These vinyl inserts are generally open on the long side with the spine of the insert inside the inmost fold. These wallet inserts also come in a top loading configuration. These inserts are usually best for pictures and cards.

Another style of wallet is the billfold (bifold or bi-fold) wallet that has two sides that fold together in a clam-shell fashion. The inserts for the billfold or bi-fold wallet are generally held into the wallet by placing the flap into one side of the wallet’s pockets. These wallet inserts are usually open on the short side where the opening is on the middle side of the wallet in a horizontal orientation. This is sometimes known as a passcase style.
While less common overall, the hipster wallet style has a very devoted following. The wallet inserts for the hipster wallets may be described as ’staggered’ as the pages are not one on top of each other. People sometimes refer to the hipster wallet inserts as ’stair stepped’. A couple of popular options on wallet inserts include the key tab and the fancy edge. The key tab (or keytab) that is a small pocket on the flap that holds the insert into the wallet. The second option is the fancy-edge which has a more decorative edge on the seal for the vinyl. This edge is less than 1/16 of an inch, but some consider that it is a nice enhancement.
The best way to size your replacement wallet insert is to measure your original insert. Take the measurement on both dimensions while counting the number of pages. Commonly, a trifold wallet insert is going to be credit card holder size insert. The picture holder insert is slightly larger, but also has the option of using acid-free vinyl plastic to prevent transfer of the image to the vinyl insert.
